The Social Center for people with disabilities in Guelmim will be the regional section of the prestigious Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled. This project, supported by Phosboucraa Foundation, aims to provide support to people with disabilities, with an emphasis on prevention, medical care, rehabilitation, specialized education, social support, professional training and social integration.
 

The project of the Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled in Guelmim is part of a global approach to sustainable development, aiming to improve the lives of people with disabilities, to promote their full social participation and to build a more equitable and inclusive society for everyone. It is designed to meet the specific needs of people with disabilities in the region. It will include several essential structures to ensure complete and appropriate care:

• Administration: An area dedicated to administrative management and coordination of center activities.

• Socio-educational center: A space intended for specialized education, academic support and parental guidance.

• Medical-social center: An infrastructure for medical care, rehabilitation and specific care for people with disabilities.

• Sports Center: Sports facilities adapted to promote sports practice and the well-being of people with disabilities.

• Residence / Kitchen: Housing and catering areas to ensure comfortable accommodation and suitable food for residents.

• Professional Training Center: Training rooms equipped to offer opportunities for skills development and professional integration.

• Odontology: Specialized dental services to meet the oral health needs of people with disabilities.

Project progress

Construction work on the Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled in Guelmim is currently underway and should be completed by the end of 2023. The Phosboucraa Foundation supports the creation of this center in order to guarantee modern, functional and adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

This center will have a significant impact on the local population and society as a whole. By offering comprehensive care and support services to people with disabilities, the center will help improve their quality of life, their well-being and their autonomy. People with disabilities will have access to specialized medical care, rehabilitation programs, adapted education, as well as professional training and social integration opportunities. This will promote their personal development, their active participation in society and their social integration, thus reducing the inequalities and discrimination they may face.

In addition, the Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled in Guelmim will also contribute to strengthening the social and community fabric. By providing a space for meeting, sharing and support for people with disabilities and their families, the center will promote the creation of social links, the exchange of experiences and mutual assistance. It will play a key role in raising public awareness of disability issues, promoting understanding, tolerance and inclusion.

The construction project of the Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled in Guelmim is closely linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It particularly contributes to meeting the following goals:
