The Foundation has chosen to strive for excellence, which is required today to address the challenges and demands of a constantly changing world. With 73 high schools in the three southern areas and over 3,500 students reached each year, in addition to the tens of thousands of young people reached through the Learning Centers, the Foundation has prioritized education. Its initiatives emphasize the principles of excellence and humility.

Our dedication to quality education has resulted in increased access to prestigious universities ("Grandes Ecoles") for young people in the South. The Foundation's Excellence Scholarship program provides financial assistance to underprivileged students, allowing them to pursue their studies at prestigious institutions, including those abroad.

Every year, the Foundation conducts preparatory courses for competitive admission examinations, school caravans, and information and orientation events. Since 2021, 114 students from Southern Regions have been admitted to the prestigious Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

The Foundation has made innovation a critical component for accomplishing its aim of sustainable development in the southern areas. In addition to supporting over a hundred local suppliers and dozens of cooperatives, the Foundation focuses on young people and women, thanks in large part to the impact of the Learning Centers in Laayoune and Dakhla: to date, nearly 30,000 beneficiaries, 64% of whom are women, have benefited from entrepreneurship training programs, and almost 600 businesses have been established and supported by the Foundation.

Because mastering digital technology is now a prerequisite for growth, the Phosboucraa Foundation has, in partnership with UM6P-Agriedge, launched two programs to mobilize local youth around the digitalization of agriculture and entrepreneurship, with the ambition of bringing out new generations of Tech-focused entrepreneurs from the southern regions.

While its primary focus is on funding research and development of new technologies, the Foundation also runs programs to help communities rely more on their traditional know-how. Along the whole value chain, 47 local cooperatives have received support; 35 have successfully secured the "sesame" sanitary approval required for market access.

The Phosboucraa Foundation has made innovation one of the pillars of its action, as demonstrated by the opening of the Foum El Oued Technopole, a few kilometers from Laayoune, representing an investment of 228.8 million USD. This new hub of knowledge and technological innovation, developed jointly with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, is home to the ASARI (African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute) center.

It is particularly active in research into agriculture in arid environments. The Foundation wants to show that innovation also comes from the South, and that the demand for excellence is universal. Notable results have already been achieved. In the field of new salinity-tolerant crops, for example, Blue Panicum has been identified as the crop best adapted to the Saharan climate and the most likely to preserve production and income for local farmers.

On the other hand, scientific efforts have identified three salinity-tolerant crops that improved farmers’ production yields, in a region where water scarcity is a crucial issue. On this subject, a solution based on water desalination using the adsorption technique is currently being developed.
