Our Story
The Phosboucraa Foundation is committed to the socio-economic development of southern regions
The Phosboucraa Foundation, founded in 2014, aims to contribute to the socioeconomic promotion of Morocco’s three southern regions (Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab) by developing local communities’ skills and capabilities, as well as financing and implementing structuring projects.

The Phosboucraa Foundation is part of Phosboucraa, the corporation in charge of extracting and marketing phosphates from the Boucraa mine in the Laayoune region. Phosboucraa has been a wholly owned subsidiary (100%) of the OCP Group, the world’s largest phosphate producer, since 2002.
Based in Laayoune, it has launched various social, economic, and cultural initiatives since its foundation, with theme programs focused on social development, agriculture in arid areas, entrepreneurship, culture and sport, the environment, and urban development.
The projects conducted during this period yielded substantial results, including the establishment of two Learning Centers in Laâyoune and Dakhla, which have become benchmarks for skill development and socioeconomic integration of young people and women in the southern regions.

Today, we can say that the Phosboucraa Foundation has set itself three priority ambitions:
- Promoting access to excellence in education
- Supporting applied research on issues specific to the southern provinces
- Promoting innovative entrepreneurship for young people
These actions aim to ensure the development of the southern regions and their inhabitants through the health, education and social services they provide.

With over 200,000 beneficiaries to date, the Phosboucraa Foundation is dedicated to the socio-economic and human development of Morocco’s southern regions, through innovation and the development of new sources of value creation and growth.
