Closure of the Metalworking Training Program in Laayoune: A Tribute to Traditional Craftsmanship

ClĂ´ture du Programme de Formation

On August 9, 2024, the Phosboucraa Foundation's Learning Center in Laayoune hosted a memorable ceremony celebrating the completion of the Metalworking Training Program, a project that is part of the Phosboucraa Foundation's promotion of entrepreneurship. This intensive three-week program, organized in collaboration with the SIAQ Association, brought together 20 participants from the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, eager to improve their skills in this traditional craft under the supervision of an experienced trainer.

This training program aimed not only to strengthen the technical skills of the beneficiaries in the art of metalworking but also to promote the cultural heritage of the southern regions of Morocco. Each artisan had the opportunity to acquire essential skills in the design of metalworking objects, highlighting the richness of Moroccan artisanal heritage.

The objects designed at the end of this training are a true tribute to the history and cultural heritage of this region. They showcase the creativity and expertise of the participants, ready to contribute to the preservation of this ancestral art and enrich the local artisanal scene.

Through this initiative, the Phosboucraa Foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and promoting skills development within local communities. By supporting these passionate artisans, the Foundation actively participates in the preservation and transmission of traditional knowledge.

We warmly congratulate the 20 artisans for their determination, creativity, and commitment to keeping the artisanal heritage of our region alive. Their success symbolizes a promising future for the art of metalworking in southern Morocco.
