A look at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University
Like all OCP 's urban development projects, the Foum El Oued - Laayoune Technopole is designed according to international environmental standards.
The developments have been the subject of extensive environmental impact studies to protect the surrounding natural environment, particularly the nearby wetlands. Ultimately, this project aims to support regional socio-economic development by responding to the specificities of the territory.
In addition, the University was conceived as part of an innovative vision of eco-sustainability especially in regards to water recycling processes (activated sludge treatment plants, new biological technologies for water treatment, reuse of water in local circuits), waste treatment (biological systems for transforming organic waste into biogas and bio-fertilizers), and renewable energies (wind energy, solar energy, algal biomass, soft circulation).
